December 2nd-4th Harriman State Park Camping Trip
Got out to the Seven Lakes region of Harriman State Park in NY. We stayed at the Silver Mine Lake shelter a little over a mile away from the abandoned Silver Mine Ski Resort right on the junction of the Appalachian Trail.
Had a blast and was able to officially try out my Kelty LightYear 20F sleeping bag.
I few days back I posted about Kolby Kirk, The Hike Guy, who ventured about 1700 miles on the PCT. He not only accomplished some pretty amazing life goals but really had some awesome ways of capturing his journey via a set of journals and great pictures and videos.
Here is a picture mash up of his trip, with emphasis on one epic beard.

Making it easier and more affordable to get that vacation home you always wanted or simplify life, and live debt free.
The cats over at OR (Outdoor Research) built their own mobile tiny house and have been traveling the hidden ski resorts of North America capturing the essence of being a ski bum.
Check out OR’s Side Country Sessions. And then here are some plans for your own tiny house.
Weekend adventure in the Adirondack’s:
Stayed in an awesome house on Lake Abanakee. Skied Gore Mountain Friday & Saturday and planned our next trip to the Devil’s Path in the Catskill Mountains.
Yosemite HD: Working hard at capturing the untamed natural wonders are an awesome uprising of time lapsed videos taken by some very talented photographers & videographers. These artists are breaking new boundaries by inventing their own and hacking together their own equipment and truly giving viewers an experience.
My DSLR is something that I carry with me nearly every day. Even though I love my vintage Nikon embroidered yellow camera strap, sometimes it is absolutely impractical. When out on the trail, running around the city, hiking through high elevations or even carting around on my longboard or bike I never have a way to keep my DSLR secure and have a quick single movement to get myself set up for a shot.
Cinch developed by Luma Labs is going to change the way we carry our DSLRS.
a story for tomorrow. - Gnarly Bay Productions
In my nightly Vimeo hunt I came across this video and all the videos by Dan Riordan & Dana Saint of Gnarly Bay Productions Inc.
This video was written and produced while traveling through Chile & Patagonia over 5 weeks. I’m pretty sure a cried a little while watching this.
Check out all of Gnarly Bay Productions Inc. Vimeo treasures.
Hike through Worthington State Forest, Columbia, NJ
Hike a little more than 6 miles through Worthington State Forest, which is adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap. Hiked from the parking lot up to Sunfish Pond and skirting around the reservoir. The AR runs right through this area and connects with Stokes State Forest about 14 miles away.
Best part of the hike was the rock beach at Sunfish Pond and the magnificent turquoise water.
Cuppow: Mason Jars Just Got Way Cooler
I’m not going to lie. I love drinking out of unconventional vessels. Maybe it’s just my own way of nonconformity, meets going green, meets dork. Either way the mason jar as a means to carry your drinks actually makes a lot of sense. They are cheap, have a secure lid and aren’t made of any harmful plastics.
The cuppow is an awesome solution to any traveler. Secure your drinks on the go with a 100% recyclable BPA free sippy lid for you wide mouth mason jar.
